Maarten van Roozendaal (b. 3-5-1962 in Heiloo, The Netherlands) is a Dutch singer and songwriter. He accompanies himself on piano, used to play with Kim Soepnel on bass, nowadays Egon Kracht plays the bass, and Marcel de Groot plays guitar. Maarten van Roozendaal's tone oozes heavy melancholy, but not in a depressing way and his songs usually result in a smile. Recurring themes are love, death, idiots savants & alcohol.
